I recently became diabetic and discovered that sugar alcohol can seriously damage the liver in the same way as alcohol does.Which really blows because I love gummi bears.The gas is embarrassing too!
sugar alcohol is more like a carb it absorbs slower but will raise you blood sugar .just not real high like sugar will
if you eat a lot of sugar alcohol it will give you diahrea so use sparingly.
Answer 1 is right. Answer 2 is right. In addition to those, it can give you some serious gas, as well. Sugar alcohols are broken down in the intestine by bacteria whose byproduct is gas. Best advice for a diabetic is to change that sweet tooth into a health food tooth.
