My grandma used to make this candy out of fresh oranges, and other citurs and I wan to learn how to make it(grandma died about 10 years ago and no one can rember how she made it)
all i can rember is it was slices of the fruit and she would do something and when all done they were like a gummi candy kinda tasted like the orange slices candy you can buy.
can any one help me? i have done lots of internet recipe searches with no luck.

In this video, Betty demonstrates her simple and elegant side dish, Brown Sugar Candy Glazed Baby Carrots recipe. Betty does her magic here, and makes a vegetable taste like candy! Ingredients: 14.5 oz. can baby carrots 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 tablespoon corn starch 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup water Empty the 14.5 oz. canned baby carrots (liquid and all) into a small pot and heat just to a boil over low heat. While your carrots are heating make your Brown Sugar Candy Glaze. In a small saucepan melt 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, and add 1 tablespoon cornstarch. mix thoroughly. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup water. Mix well and place saucepan over low heat. Cook and stir constantly, until the sauce becomes thickened and brown. Remove the carrots when they are hot, and drain the water from them and discard the water. Place the carrots attractively in a serving bowl. Pour the hot, cooked brown sugar glaze over the top and stir to distribute the sauce. It’s a beautiful, sweet-tasting dish that adds color and drama to your table!

How can I make fondant without using a candy thermometer or cream of tartar or corn syrup or glucose?
I want to make fondant for wedding cake coating & I don’t have candy thermometer to know if the fondant reached the correct degree so I need time interval from someone who already tried this before to tell me how long I should leave it on the stove. I also don’t have cream of tartar & I tried using vinegar as a subsititute (it was mentioned on one of the websites as substitute for cream of tartar) but it didn’t work out. I also would like to know a detailed fondant recipe that someone actually tried & worked. I know that most people & even bakers don’t make the fondant but I want to make it myself not use the ready made one. I used the recipes with cream of tartar because I needed it with sugar instead of corn syrup because I don’t have any.
